WHAT IS ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE CARE?

The athletic performance care is a practice which is specifically dedicated to assessment, evaluation and resolving of soft tissue injuries that often strike active individuals either in the workplace or in their recreational activities. This program is designed for athletes and active individuals to restore and protect their ability to adapt specifically to their sports performance requirements. It can help benefit athletes by quickly and effectively identifying the structures affected and restoring those tissues to normal tension, integrity and function. Patient symptoms usually include:

  • Muscle or ligament tear due to an injury
  • Decreased range of motion due to muscle tightness
  • Overuse or repetitive stress injuries

Athletic Performance Care helps athletes and active individuals by treating various injuries, enhance performance, reduce pain and swelling, increase strength and range of motion, improve muscle performance, improve blood circulation and oxygen intake, improve function, improve cardiac activity and reduce muscle fatigue.

The treatment process takes place with a complete assessment looking at the chief complaint as well as overall body functions to distinguish and diagnose the source of the problem. It includes a comprehensive history, various movement screens, orthopaedic and functional tests to diagnose and propose a plan of management for treatment. The condition is managed through multiple modalities and therapies according to the treatment approach, which can include electrotherapy, acupuncture, myofascial release, chiropractic adjustment, movement therapies, strengthening programs and neuromuscular development etc.
