WHAT IS MASSAGE?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues in the body. It is a collective term that covers various techniques and types of massages to relieve pain and alleviate some physical conditions. Massage techniques are applied using hands, fingers, elbows, forearms, feet or through a massaging device. Massage therapists work by applying pressure through kneading, gliding, pressing or rubbing the layers of the muscles and skin to provide a relaxing sensation. The primary goal of massage therapy is to help the body heal itself and to increase health and well-being. Patient symptoms usually include:
